Fundraising

  • New Year‘s Reception with Welcome-Potato-Soup
  • Spring-Charity-Concert at Schlosshotel Kronberg
  • Kronberg‘s Flea market
  • Charity-Summer-Party with raffle
  • Charity-Concert at senior residence Altkönig-Stift Kronberg
  • Christmas-Charity-Concert at Schlosshotel Kronberg

In addition to that we try to attract specific individual donors for our project. At the beginning of the 90’s we participated for the first time in Kronberg’s flea market, which takes place once a year and in the middle of that decade we dedicated the resulting revenues to the initiative against blindness in Bangladesh. However, the first thing for us to face was to overcome our internal resistance, in the sense of “This is something there is no need for us to do; what would the other people be thinking about us”. In the end, this activity generated more and more funding for the execution of eye surgeries and we had a lot of fun! However, a point in time emerged where our own household did not suffice. The New Year Welcome-Potato-Soup was born, to which we invite our friends and guests to welcome in the New Year. We also encourage them to review their cellars and provide us with household appliances in good shape to sell at the flea market. It was not so easy at the beginning, but over time barriers have been overcome and thanks to our donors’ generosity we have had an excellent selection of things to sell which we recently expanded to include a toys for kids section.
